Spotlight on Aaron Cooler, Founder of Satesboro's BiRDHAUS
Aaron Cooler brought a DIY scene to Statesboro, Georgia when they opened up their home to local and touring bands alike in 2016. Originally done so their band, BiRDPERSON, could play the kind of music they wanted to in a town that seemed to have no fit for them, Aaron began booking touring acts soon after trying to help every group they could. From Punk to Emo, and Hip-Hop to Heavy Metal, the now notorious BiRDHAUS holds two to three shows a month. Cooler not only books and runs shows out of the house, but is also in five other musical groups outside of BiRDPERSON!
Klange is a noise rock project featuring Aaron on guitar, Zack Hummel on bass, and Drew Purvis on Drums; Suckr Camp is an acid rock outfit where Aaron plays drums alongside their fiance Mallory and Kaleb Jones and Megan Farmer; Dweebz is a two piece dance punk group in which Aaron and Marisa, of BullMoose, switch off playing the bass and drums; and finally Fox Car is their funk band that puts their twist on famous covers. April 21st and 22nd marks Cooler's largest venture yet as the second HAUSFEST comes to the BiRDHAUS. Featuring over two dozens bands from all across the country with over half being Georgia natives, the two day event is set to be one of the biggest DIY festivals in Statesboro history.
