Chilling Behind The Light With Yams Club

Chilling Behind The Light With Yams Club

Fans of jazzy, jangly guitars, groovy basslines, and sonorous, smooth vocals should take note of this Atlanta-based indie rock band.  Yams Club is made up of five members whose contributions blend together into a sound that’s more than the sum of its parts.  And on their new EP Behind the Light, the band offers a fresh take on the sounds of a bygone era.

Blake Objartel and Justin Settipani provide colorful, shimmering psychedelic guitar.  This is complemented perfectly by Davis Wright’s warm, wonderfully bouncy work on bass, and drumming that builds and flows magnificently, thanks to Jeff Wessels’ presence behind the kit.  Jade Thames’ vocals are nothing short of angelic and feature an old school soul vibe.

Each of the five tracks on the EP are truly delightful, and invite the listener to a place of joyous bliss.  Like a good vinyl record, Behind The Light should be taken in from beginning to end. The tracks flow together as if they were one and complement each other perfectly.

Whether you’re chilling at home with friends after a long day, heading out in the car on a road trip, or laying back at the beach with your toes in the sand, this record fits the bill for relaxing.  But don’t just take it from me.  Check out Behind the Light on, iTunes, Spotify, and Bandcamp now.
